Your Mission:
We’re seeking an Analyst - Data & Venture Operations, to join our team in Santa Monica, CA. This is an exciting opportunity for you to gain invaluable experience of the venture capital industry working with a team that brings a diverse set of experiences as former entrepreneurs, operators, and now investors.
As a newly created role, you will be primarily responsible for assisting with internal and external components of the firm’s investor relations and data management processes. This includes supporting the firm’s leadership with non-investment activities, database management, research, and client/meeting coordination. This role requires exceptional project management and organizational skills, an affinity for research, and experience with data collection and management.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Relationship management: You will play a key role in managing our CRM system and ensuring high accuracy of our data with world-class attention to detail. You’ll leverage existing systems as well as implement new processes that will be used by the firm’s leadership team to consistently track investor communications and data.
- Research: You will be responsible for collecting market intelligence and performing ongoing research on the venture capital industry, with a specific focus on institutional private markets allocators. Your data tracking will provide critical insights on the firm’s investor relationships.
- Investor meeting coordination: You will assist with planning investor meetings (both live and virtual) and fundraising trips. You’ll support the broader Upfront partnership by coordinating logistics with existing and prospective investors, preparing briefing materials such as agendas, bios, and other documents, and driving follow up items.
What You Bring:
- Two to four years of professional working experience in an operational or business development role, with a demonstrated track record of academic and/or professional success.
- Proficiency in Google Suite, Salesforce and other relevant CRMs and software applications. Affinity is a nice to have.
- You enjoy hunting for answers. The second (or third) page of Google results energize you as you search for hidden gems.
- You are process-oriented and analytical, with a keen attention to detail for spreadsheets, tables, and written communications, and the ability to work across multiple documents and technology platforms effortlessly.
- A growth mindset, with a passion for learning by doing, and the self-judgment to know when to ask questions and when to make recommendations.
- A confident communicator, both written and oral.
- Curious and passionate about technology / innovation.
- This role is onsite in our Santa Monica, CA office.
